The Shaykh, Sayyidina Shah Abul Hussain Ahmad-e-Nuri al Hussaini al Qadiri رضي الله  comments on the different statuses of the various Awliya -

''Each group has its own style and mode of worship. Therefore, each group is listed by a specific name. Some of the names of the different groups are as follows:

1. Suffiya

2. Mutasawwifa

3. Malamatiyya

4. Owessiya

5. Faqir

6. Qalandar

7. Abdal

8. AbTal

9. Say'yah

10. 20 Awliya

11. 10 Budalah

12. Awliya-e-'Areef

13. Afrad

14. 'Ara'isullah

15. Nuqaba

16. 'Umada

17. Aqtab

19. Qutb al Aqtab or The Ghawth

Though they defer in forms of 'Ibaadah and Dhikr, but they are all related to one objective, and they are all beaded into one rosary of perfection.''
